Explore His Journey

A Legacy Built with Steel and Soul

Born on 3rd June 1960, Ajitha Wijetunge carved his path through discipline, innovation, and unshakable willpower. From marine engineer to body armour pioneer, from power investor to agritech visionary—his journey is not just a timeline, it's a testament. He never backed down, never gave in… and always moved forward.

1981–1996Life at SeaAt just 21, Ajitha set sail as a Marine Engineer — 15 years navigating global waters. He didn’t just repair engines; he built resilience, forged discipline, and learned what it meant to survive storms — both natural and human.
1996–2000The Armour AwakeningIn the labs of England and the training grounds of America, he mastered ballistics — the science of projectiles in motion. By 2000, his first protective plate was complete. Built not for profit, but for protection.
2001–2003From Ships to StrategyHe purchased two freight ships and launched a logistics company. What began as a bold pivot from engineering quickly became a masterclass in entrepreneurial vision.
2003UN BreakthroughA historic moment: the United Nations awarded him the contract to supply body armour and helmets. For the first time, a third-world nation delivered world-class defence gear to a global peacekeeping force.
2003–2009Sri Lanka’s ShieldHe delivered over 100,000 protective units — body armour, flak jackets, helmets — to the Sri Lankan Army. His modifications of JCBs and Caterpillars revolutionised demining in conflict zones. He didn't just manufacture safety — he operationalised survival.
2005–2009Global ReachHis ballistic gear crossed borders — into Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, and Jordan. From Colombo to global conflict zones, Sri Lankan-made protection became a trusted name in survival tech.
2009–2012Cultivating PeacePost-war, he turned to the land — producing tomatoes at scale. At a time when many paused, he planted. Innovation now took root in agriculture.
2012–2013Powering the NationHe invested in Lanka Energy Fund PLC, entering hydro and thermal energy. From body armour to electricity — now his mission was to power homes and industries across Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
2013–2017Scaling the GridWith LTL Group, he co-invested in major energy infrastructure in Bangladesh. From rural villages to industrial towns, his vision turned on the lights.
2017The Battle WithinAfter a liver transplant, he took a necessary pause — but not for long. Even while healing, he was planning his next chapter.
2018–2025Comeback and Expansion2018 saw the commissioning of a 1.2MW hydro plant in Kitulgala. In 2019, he expanded into healthcare via Diyatha Pharmaceuticals and launched Revolka Energy for rooftop solar. By 2024, Sirioya Hydro Power came to life — and in 2025, it was commissioned. His legacy? Still generating power.
